Spiritually Attacked

I have been in a down and out mood these past couple of days. No matter how much I pray, how much I rejoice in the Lord, how much I read the Bible, I sort of get that feeling that I'm not doing enough.

2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Whenever things go a little haywire around here, I start to get that sense that maybe I'm just not good enough for the kingdom of God. I start crying, but then verses will pop in my head and I start to cheer up after that. I don't know if anyone else gets like that or what.

2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the time began.

Since the Lord has called me, it seems like there is someone to try to knock me down in my spirit. Someone criticizing me, ridiculing me, trying to tell me how I should do this and do that. It's hard, but, I still try very hard to fight that good fight of faith. Not with words, but with prayer.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast confessed with a good confession before many witnesses.

My dear child, It is written: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in My name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."

Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven."

"But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of My name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you death. All men will hate you because of Me. But not a hair of your head will. By standing firm you will gain life."

Been there, done that, will probably be there again. We must walk through the fire, but always know: He is with you.
