Dangers of the tongue

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Beholdm how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Matthew 15:10&11.....(Jesus own words) Hear and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

We need to be extremely cautious when talking to other people, even if they are angry with us. If we respond with our own mouth to the person who is calling us names and screaming obscenities at us, then, we are the ignorant ones who are transgressing the laws of Christ. Jesus Christ endured being mocked, scorned, tempted by Satan, spit on, slapped in the face, beaten to a bloody pulp, then crucified without one complaint. So please be careful of what you say to other people.

Hi Sherry,
The world is listening and watching us to falter in our walk, the tongue is what get's us in the worse trouble. And you are so right, what our Savior went through without complaint, how can we complain?

Cristina

God has given us two ears, but one tongue, to show that we should be swift to hear, but slow to speak. God has set a double fence before the tongue, the teeth and the lips, to teach us to be wary that we offend not with our tongue.- Thomas Watson

I am positive that most of the things I regret from my life have to do with things I have said or written without wisdom and without discernment. Good peice Sherry.
